The Brazos River Series

I’ve taken another trip down memory lane. This time to the summer of 1979, when I spent a weekend visiting relatives who lived on the Brazos River, near Houston, Texas. They had a lovely home which backed up to the river, and I brought along my 35mm Nikkomat FT3. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a boat. However, there was a small dock behind the house, and I spent some time hiking and shooting photos.

Back in the 1970s we all thought slides and negatives would last forever. We now know this isn’t the case. When I scanned the negatives I discovered they had all deteriorated, some more than others. Fortunately, I was able to restore the color in one, but not the others. I converted them to black and white, and they came out better than expected.
